The Doxology refers to the concluding words of Matthew 6:13, “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” New versions remove these words, or place them in brackets, casting doubt upon their inspiration. The views of these early Lutherans alone refutes the common, misinformed objection that these textual arguments began with Seventh-Day Adventists in 1930.
